Deck the walls.

I’ve just finished reading Simon Doonan’s Eccentric Glamour, his guide to creating an insanely more fabulous you. His writing is hilarious; I highly recommend it for a good beach read this summer.

One of his advice tidbits is to stop saving your fancy dresses for special occasions and live everyday like it’s a cause for celebration; while my coworkers would probably turn their noses and my wearing of ball gowns to the office, I think this principle can be nicely applied to how you decorate your home.  What if we left Christmas lights up all year long and decked the walls with paper bunting not just for birthday parties but for the everyday?

I think these pictures show how fun and whimisical it could be, especially in a kids room or craft studio!
