A touch of ruffles.

I love a good craft project, and was excited this morning to see a great guest post tutorial by Merrilee, from mermag, on Kelly + Olive for a ruffled pillow.  It was a simple project with easy step-by-step instructions that I think I could take on! Check out the finished product: via Mer Mag I’ve been tagging [...]

Rainy day reading nooks.

We must be on our 12th day straight of rainy weather in Boston. My hair has been a constant pouf of frizz and I’m starting to fear we may never see sunlight again! On rainy days like these, I just want to curl up with a big stack of glossy magazines and a warm drink [...]

Art imitating art.

Sometimes the knock-off just won’t do, and until I find a craigslist miracle deal on an Eames rocker, I’m enjoying some art-imitating-art prints of the real thing.  These are just a few I’ve been saving in my inspiration folder, an etsy search for ‘Eames Chair’ brings up dozens of artist’s interpretations of the design classics. [...]

Sweet treats.

What a lovely weekend, I’m sad to have to go back to the grind tomorrow. Despite some rainy weather, I had tons of fun celebrating my friend Taz’s birthday. Check out the delicious tasting flight of mini-cupcakes we enjoyed at tea at the Ritz Carlton. YUM.

Half way there.

My bookend search is currently 1/2 done. I just won this reproduction of an Eames-era Jax bookend on eBay! I might repaint it a glossy black, but for now the hunt continues for it’s other half…

Sweating in style.

Do you ever get into an exercise slump? I’m pretty much stuck in a constant state of slump… it’s been so hard to motivate myself to go this week with all of the non-stop rain this week.  I need to kick it back into high-gear tomorrow though, and in a very very very unrealistic daydream, [...]

Trends: Tripod Lamps

Loving this trend: the tripod lamp. The variety in these lamps is wide, they’re popping up in industrial looking metals, sleek modern designs, and vintage-inspired wood designs. They also make a big impact in a space with their wide stance and large drum shades. I think finding a vintage surveyor tripod, or an old camera [...]

Putting an end to it.

My friends and I started a little book club that meets once a month (while we do actually read a book each month, it’s more of a cocktail club or a gossip club; there’s a lot more of the latter two going on than the actual discussion of the book). Since this book club started, my [...]

Oprah knows her stuff.

Nate Berkus is a gem… first off, he’s been blessed by Oprah, and I’ll pretty much believe anything Oprah says, so you know he’s good. Now, after wowing me with his decorating skills, he’s winning me over again with his affordable home line for HSN! $499 for this velvet studio sofa (or just 4 easy [...]

Green Spaces.

I don’t have any outdoor space at my current apartment, not so much as a fire escape to store some potted plants on, so I’m growing incredibly envious of people that have patios and porches to lounge on as the summer is starting to get a little warmer. This envy is only intensified by the [...]
