If there’s one thing that I love about August, it’s the crisp pages of Fall fashion magazine issues and fresh racks of clothes getting rolled into department stores. I’m not exactly in need of a back-to-school wardrobe anymore, but I do like to invest in a few new pieces to spice up my closet from seasons past.
This year, I’ve been on the hunt for an oversized metallic tote with a long list of requirements: 1. must be big enough to hold my laptop, 2. must have short straps for when I need to pull of the work-tote style, 3. must have a long messenger style strap for when I’m running to the gym and have to sling it across my body, and 4. must not cost more than a house. Impossible you say?
I think these two bags, from Coach and J.Crew, were instant qualifiers but they unfortunately did not meet criteria 4, since they both cost more than a house (well, maybe a really nice dog house). The Fall hunt for the perfect bag was getting discouraging.

But then, the fashion gods shined down on me and the perfect bag came to me out of nowhere (aka, my trendy younger sister texted me)… it’s big enough to tote work stuff, functional enough for a gym bag, shiny and delicious… AND it only cost $25! My sister bought it at the shop she works at for me, and I’m in love. It makes me want to skip down the sidewalk when I carry it (don’t worry, I’m holding back).

The icing on the cake? Hot pink silk lining. YUM.
