Back to School with Taz of Bring to Light Photography

This back to school series is turning into way more fun than expected this week! I’m super excited to welcome my very close friend Taz of Bring to Light Photography and Designs by Taz to share her picks. I think you’ll be impressed…

Not being in school myself anymore, I get a little jealous thinking of all the new things students get during the fall. I used to countdown the days each summer until I’d get to go school supply shopping with my parents and get all new pencils, notebooks, and highlighters. Of course that love of back to school shopping hasn’t faded and so my wishlist this September will include some items to make my workspace more efficient and stylish. Can you tell I’m a (tad) bit obsessed with lime green? Being my favorite color and one of my business branding colors, I thought it appropriate to accessorize with this fresh and fun hue. My existing office furniture is a mix of white, birch, and silver. The base of my room brought in by the Trig File Cabinets from CB2,  the Alex cart, Galant desk and an Effektiv storage cabinet from Ikea.

On the top of my back to school wishlist is a new office chair! Right now I’ve got a cute but uncomfortable chair that is just not cutting it for someone that spends much of her time on the computer. I have my eye on the Herman Miller Aeron chair in Titanium – if I’m wishful thinking! Next are some smaller and more affordable pieces, a modern clock and bookends from CB2 and a canvas storage boxfrom Hable Construction that I can use under my desk to corral my paper recycling. The Stockholm paper drawers from Container Store and letter boxesfrom See Jane Work are things I actually own, and use to store product samples and supplies like company letterhead and printer paper. While browsing some online shops I stumbled upon these button magnets and page flags from Girl of All Work that I totally want for marking cool design ideas I come across while reading some of my favorite magazines. The industrial looking vase is from CB2 and I think it would look great next to my monitor if I can find some dried Billy Buttons to display in there. The hour glassis a whimsical remainder of time spent on client projects and phone calls, and would look complete my back to school wishlist.

Thanks so much for sharing Taz!
