Canadian Treasures.

I love three-day-weekends. I think we need more of them, no? I spent my mine visiting Niagara Falls, which was a blast.

What was the best part of the trip? Massive force of nature? No. Kitschy boat rides under the waterfalls? No. Stocking up on Canadian home decorating magazines? YES.

Sure, the waterfalls were impressive and the sight-seeing was wonderful, but I got truly jazzed when I walked past a newsstand with crisp copies of Canadian House and Home.

IMG_1242The magazine was a treat, and I also snagged a special bonus ‘before and after’ edition. I wish it wasn’t so expensive to subscribe from the States or I’d be a faithful reader. My favorite image from the two issues was from a before and after of a basement renovation; this is the laundry room! I would kill for a laundry room that nice (let’s be serious, I would kill for just a non coin-operated washer and dryer).

After canadian house and homeIn other magazine news, I’m mad at Elle Decor. I’m always the last to get it in the mail, and by the time I actually receive it I’ve already seen all of the good pictures floating on the internet! Speed it up Margaret Russel, I’m sick of being out of the loop!
