Mad about plaid.
I expressed my extreme frustration awhile back that some of my decorating magazines were arriving in the mail long after I’d seen all of the pictures online and scanned the covers while waiting in line at the supermarket. But, problem solved! A friend of mine treated me to an online subscription to Elle Decor from Zinio and now the magazine pops into my inbox the day the magazine comes out! I didn’t think I’d like reading magazines online, but there are so many advantages, you can immediately click on the links for products and jump to the Web site and I can right-click and save images I like to my computer.
Anyway, to my point… of the last surviving shelter magazines, I do believe Elle Decor gets it right. They seem to be reaching a broader audience with a greater mix of interior styles and are spicing up the front of book with some actually affordable options paired with high-end pieces. Their spread on tartan trends, which I loved, has pieces from JC Penney, HSN, and Williams-Sonoma Home. Good job Margaret Russel, thanks for remembering us common folk!
In other news, whatta badass holiday outfit accessory these would make:

I’ve got to get that subscription- I hate seeing things online before I get my hands on the actual magazine.
I think it’s actually cheaper too!
