I went over the long weekend to place an order for my first of what I’m sure will be many bridesmaid dresses, and now I have weddings on the mind. I can never justify spending a ton of money on flowers, and with the giant costs of weddings these days, it just seems crazy to invest a giant chunk of the budget on an element that will wilt and die. Which is why I’m so drawn to some of the crafty ideas I’ve seen creating bouquets out of other materials.
These adorable flowers are actually door knobs and drawer pulls from Anthropologie! God knows I’m always looking for a reason to dig through those hardware bins.
And these bouquets are made out of vintage brooches; I can just imagine disassembling the “flowers” and giving these away to your bridesmaids at the end of the night, or passing them along to your daughter someday.
SO, while I have your attention and am on the topic of weddings… my good friend Audra (who you may remember as the girl from the typewriter tale) has entered Crate & Barrel’s Ultimate Wedding Contest.
She is an awesome chick, who really deserves an awesome wedding, and she could sure use your vote! I promiseĀ that if she wins, I will take a million pictures and blog about it for everyone to see. So vote, vote, vote!

remind me not to catch your 50-pound metal bouquet with nails and pins sticking out – such a safety hazard.
