Back on the runway 6.

Congratulations Seth Aaron, as the winner of this challenge you have been contracted to make a million more looks for the Avril Lavigne collection. Adding zippers and grommets doesn’t make you innovative, it makes you a middle-aged punk rocker. You get half a second of praise though for making that little girl’s hair look cute.

Amy? Congratulations, you get 30 lashes and 4 snarky comments from Nina and Michael for actually being innovative. Child model, no one cares how much you love your adorable petal skirt.

I mean really, you knew she was going to be in the bottom. There was no way that the judges were going to let THAT many bitchy comments just fly away, fish jokes, flower jokes, circus jokes, too many to choose from! It’s too bad, I liked the concept, and think if the second look had been a skirt, she would have been safer.

Oh, and Tory? Blue and orange actually ARE complimentary colors.

At least next week is a good ol’ make a dress out of things that aren’t fabric challenge. We need this!

In other news, I’m loving the looks from Emilio and Anthony’s Bryant Park shows (don’t worry, I’m not spoiling anything, they let more than just the top 3 designers show to throw off the media).

And Michael Kors also showed his collection this week — the knit wear is very Mean-a Irena inspired, no? Has the Master taken a lesson from the Student??

I’ve never commented here before but always read… hi! I love the Project Runway recaps, and how interesting that Kors’ collection has pieces like that… I mean the look on the right is EXACTLY Irina’s Aspen look. Wonder how she feels about it. Also wonder if he designed it before the show was filmed? Don’t know how far in advance those things are planned, but could be a possibility… but it’s probably too uncanny. I think he was “inspired” by Irina for sure!

Tory Burch’s comments have really bothered me. Blue and orange don’t go together? Seriously? Has she looked at a color wheel?

Has she looked at her own collection?

She sent blue and orange – separately and in combination – down the runway LAST WEEK! See the photos on Fashionista: http://fashionista.com/2010/02/learning-the-abcs-at-tory-burch/img_4156/

ahh yay i just watched the episode so i got to read your recap. i had to avoid reading until now :) i agree with you on all points. i actually thought the MK comment “it looks like a cheap mall outfit” before break was about seth aaron’s child’s outfit, haha. it is ‘cute’ in theory but it reminds me of something you’d see in sears or boscovs!! and i LOVED amy’s child look. so bohemian, and so glad the little girl stuck to her guns about liking the outfit on the runway after being prodded by the judges to say otherwise – that girl will go far in life!!
