Back on the runway 7.

I love love love the challenges on Project Runway when they have to work with unconventional materials, I think it really separates the truly creative from the ‘good at making cocktail dresses’ crowd.

A totally deserving win for Jay. That belt looked like he pulled it right off of the BlueFly acessory wall. The whole outfit would have impressed me even if he’d used real leather, but being that it was made out of garbage bags, double kudos.

I was surprised Amy wasn’t picked to be in the top 3, I thought her dress was really impressive and more deserving to garner a top spot than Mila’s (yawn) been-there-done-that go-go dancer look. How have the judges not called her out yet on the use of excessive color-blocking?

Other highlights for me? The Judges’ rampage on Jesse’s dress. The cattiness was delightful, Hershey kiss? Vacuum cleaner bag? No, DIRTY vacuum cleaner bag.  Also loved Nina Garcia quietly admitting that she didn’t think Emilo’s washer and string… thing… wasn’t so bad. Maybe he can make one of her!

In other Project Runway news… Leanne Marshall is selling some of her collection samples on Etsy… So if you’re 5’10″ and a size zero with an extra $1,000 bucks lying around, snatch one up! Her Helene wedding dress is gorgeous:
