Voyeurism by the book.

I just read that the April windows at Barneys NY are going to be done by Todd Selby and am hoping I can check them out when I’m in the city next weekend. I love his blog, and just got my hands on his new book, The Selby.  My review of the book? Head out and pick it up right now, it’s my new favorite. What’s so great about the book (and the blog) is that the homes he photographs are so real; no styling, no designers, just people in their homes. It’s voyeurism of the best kind, the kind where you get to sneak a peek behind the doors of some pretty creative people… and look at all of their awesome crap.

My favorite images from the book so far (I’m still flipping through it again and again) are of the home of loveable pair Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler. Their space is as light-hearted and playful as their personalities seem! I mean, come on, they have an upholstered ping-pong table!

There are also some pretty fabulous shots of Karl Lagerfeld’s home with ridiculous floor to ceiling bookcases, but to see those, you’ll have to buy the book!
