Sweating fall sweaters.
As I am writing this post, the thermostat in my apartment reads 87 degrees. Yet, I am sitting at my computer, filling up shopping carts across the internet with fall sweaters. It’s the eternal dork in me — I crave fall everyday of the summer.
I used to start laying out my back to school outfits for the first week of school in early August. Seeing that August is just a few days away, I’m getting that antsy feeling of wanting my new fall clothes to be organized in my closet with post it notes stuck to the hanger for which days I planned to wear them (I was a demented albeit well dressed child, seriously).
This season, I’m all about the collared sweaters. Gap seems to be springing back from a few years of dullness and I’m finally finding things I like there again — this sweater hits a home run with the mustard color and motorcycle cut, and somehow, it’s already on sale (they must be making room for Christmas merchandise already?)
It’s also no surprise I’m adding J.Crew sweaters to my fall wish list — though what may be surprising is that they’re men’s sweaters. I saw this marled cotton pullover on the tables at J.Crew last week and reluctantly put it back — but when I came home to find it on the website, I mistakenly looked in the women’s section to no avail. It’s a men’s sweater but the small fit like a dream. Borrowing from the boys? I’m sure Ms. Lyons would approve.
