Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween! I celebrated in costume on Saturday: a cocktail in a coconut, a sailor’s hat, and some nautical duds made me Skipper from Gilligan’s Island. And my sister stayed the weekend; she came with the cutest box of chocolate covered pretzels in festive Halloween sprinkles! How are you celebrating?

Pink and Black and White.

Lately I’ve been doing a little thinking on an upcoming bridal shower I’m throwing for a friend with her other bridesmaids; think up a color scheme and theme is so much fun. I thought I’d share the moodboard I’ve been working on — it’s going to be a pink, black and white girly extravaganza. One [...]

Halloween celebration decorations.

Somehow Halloween snuck up on me this year, is it really the end of October already? To get in the holiday spirit I’ve rounded up a few seasonal decor items to give your place a dash of ghoulish party atmosphere. The glittery hanging bats from West Elm are my absolute favorite! Clean slate.

There are two kinds of people in the world: wrapping paper rippers, and wrapping paper openers. Some relish in the frenzied tearing of paper to see what’s inside — but not me, I’m in the latter group. I carefully pick apart the seams of the present, because to me  the wrapping is one of the [...]

New Shoes.

As much as I love shopping for shoes, I have a very hard time buying shoes. Combine my hard to find size with a very short tolerance for uncomfortable footwear and I end up doing a lot of window shopping to find the right pair. But every once in a while I luck out… when [...]

Weekend in the country.

There’s something about escaping the city that makes the weekend so much more relaxing. I hit up the orchard with my family, walked through the pumpkin patch, and indulged in some delicious cider donuts. And I scored some amazing finds at the thrift store and tag sales — I can’t wait to find the perfect [...]

Stocking stockpile.

Confession: I hate pants; give me a skirt or a dress any day over a pair of pants or jeans. My distaste for wearing dress pants has had one major side-affect: I hoard tights. They’re part of my cold weather uniform and I’m always looking for something new to spice up my usual opaque black [...]

The ice bucket.

I’m over on Houzz today rounding up one of the most essential elements of your entertaining arsenal: the ice bucket. No bar is completed without one — they add a splash of style and function, so head on over to take a look at 20 of my favorites.

Weekend in pictures.

You know how the weekend never feels long enough? I think a three-day weekend really helps with that problem, I could use a few more of those. I spent mine enjoying the warm weather, helping a friend with some wedding planning (by being an expert cake taster, tough work!) and taking in some delicious food [...]
