I shared my summer bucket list earlier this week and one of those tasks was to dive into my summer reading list! We have been making use of our local library and I’ve been keeping a running list of books to reserve as they become available. I am always on the hunt for book recommendations and thought it would be fun to share a few of the ones on my upcoming list, plus 12 of my favorite summer-reads from the past! I just picked up Astonish Me by Maggie Shipstead after loving her book Seating Arrangements last year. Also on my to-read list is The Light We Lost, which seems to be popping up in every article I see about summer reads. Cork Dork is also on my radar, because wine and memoirs are a perfect combination in my opinion. The Futures and The Heirs both look like fun beach-reads. And my friend Alaina that I met through blogging in Boston is publishing her first book which I can’t wait to read called And Then Everything ChangedA few of my favorites from summers-past are listed below in case you’re in need of some reading list recommendations too! I just read Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin (of The Happiness Project fame) and I tell at least 3 people a week about this book — it’s a quick read and fascinating. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert was worth a read in my opinion — it’s not super actionable, but definitely made me think and I left with some inspiration. I’ll read anything by Emma Straub – Modern Lovers and The Vacationers were both delightful. If you’re looking for sharp, witty short stories pick up Sloane Crosley’s I Was Told There’d Be Cake. And Wild was a perfect story (so much better than the movie) that I gobbled up in about one sitting. I linked a few more favorites below!

I’m always up for more ideas, share what you’re reading with me in the comments so I can add to my library list!
