I am totally behind and haven’t brought out a single holiday decoration at my house yet this year. That has to change this weekend, I’m in the market for a cute little apartment sized tree that I plan to wrap up with vintage tinsel and big twinkly bulb lights. But in the meantime, I’m adding a little festive flair to the blog today and rounding up a few of the Christmas decorations I have my eye on! Have you started decorating yet?

Can we say ‘styling-crush’? I got the new-to-me Schoolhouse Electric catalog in the mail last week and it’s one of those things that I think will end up in my magazine box for years to come — the styling and photography are amazing. Not to mention the actual products are beyond lust-worthy, it made me want to start from scratch and redecorate my entire apartment.  I love that slightly messy, collected-Americana look to the pages.  And gosh does it make me want to invest in new light fixtures!

I had my 10 year high school reunion this weekend, which made me feel pretty old. But you know what made me feel even more old? Taking two days to recover from staying up way too late with old buddies. Since I’m still shaking off my late night of drinking and gossiping, I have a light little post to share with you today — a few things that have caught my eye and are just too good not to share. I’m feeling this modern-cabin-vibe lately and just want to wear chunky neutral knits and classic pieces. That National Parks print? Obsessed.  And a quirky little door mat, I mean, everyone needs a little wit on their way out the door in the morning, right?

It’s back! It’s back! It’s really back! I have been on the hunt for the new issue of Domino since the announcement came that my beloved magazine would be back on stands. I remember when the news came that the magazine was closing, it was right around when I was starting this blog and the pages of Domino played a big part in inspiring my interest to write about design and entertaining. I finally snagged a copy last week when I was catching my train to New York, and I savored every single page of it from cover to cover. I was so happy to see that the new format kept the same styling and tone as previous issues, it was like being reunited with a old friend, we picked up right where we left off!  After I scanned in a few of my favorite pages to share below, the new Domino went right into the stack of my old issues, home sweet home.

It’s been a busy week, and I can’t believe how quickly it got away from me! So in lieu of anything groundbreaking over here, I’m opting to share a few pretty little things that have caught my eye lately. I love the punny nature of the east coast coasters, and for some reason the bunny ear clock gives me a giggle too. I’m loving the brassy accents on that decanter (hello, from target! what a steal!) and the cute cheese knives and spare change dish. The Kate Spade holiday cards were too cute to pass up, I ordered a box to use for various celebrations, and plan to frame one of them to hang above my new bar cart!

I finally got around to doing a little bit of styling of my new Society Social bar cart, it’s a work in progress, but I felt like it was time to share a few snaps of what I’m working with!  I propped up a vintage painting that my parents gave us as a wedding gift, and culled together a bunch of pieces I already had scattered around our apartment, like a green lacquer tray from Target, my Kate Spade coasters (that coincidentally were a gift from Roxy of Society Social!), my Mrs Lilien Cocktail Book, and lots of little drink accessories, like striped straws and flamingo cocktail stirrers (what, you don’t have those lying around your house?).  I also added my new ‘shake, rattle, and roll’ cocktail shaker which I get a total kick out of! I need to hang a few more pieces on the wall above it, and I’m hunting on Etsy for some more vintage barware, but it’s getting there! I get so excited every time I turn the corner now and see it as I walk into the apartment — it makes me so happy!DSC_0003DSC_0001 DSC_0004DSC_0002

The weather is unpredictable in New England, and this week the forecast is ranging from the low 60s up into the 90s. But the first cool morning this week when I was walking to work, my mind immediately went to fall footwear — it’s almost boot season I thought. I have a few items on my wishlist for fall — including a sassy pair of leopard wedge heels, and some luggage leather boots. All of these kicks would be welcome additions to my closet. I am constantly trying to make my bed incrementally more comfortable and cozy (we got fluffy new pillows this weekend, a must!), but don’t you just always wonder how stylists get that “coziest place on earth” look when bedrooms are featured in magazines and design books? I ran across this image and I want to dive head first into that freshly made bed — the layered pillows, the slip-covered headboard, smooth crisp duvet… I mean — it might actually be dangerously cozy, I don’t think I’d ever leave!

Just a little round up today of a few things have caught my eye recently. I have that preppy striped vest on my fall wishlist, and was eyeing that fabulous pair of sunglasses and chunky statement necklace when I popped into the mall this weekend. I’ve also been doing a little home decor day dreaming on Pinterest lately and love those ticking striped chairs from Serena and Lily and a bold door knocker for my hypothetical future front door.  Plus that tomato red desk lamp? Perfection.
