Scenes from the weekend.

I did a little bit of shopping and a whole lot of eating. Popped into a brand new J.Crew outlet on Sunday just to browse and somehow left with a bag full of clothes. Funny how that happens, isn’t it? And some Summer staples were on the weekend menu — a fresh caprese salad jazzed up with pesto and olives, followed by fro-yo and sprinkles for dessert; doesn’t get any better than that! Spotty Sunday.

There is nothing more satisfying to me than finding a cute piece of clothing for a major steal. And when I get  a great score like this, I have to share! I found myself in Kohl’s this weekend, turning up my nose at that idea that I could find anything cute in there — but out of the corner of my eye I was drawn to polka dots and ended up snagging an adorable silky swing tank for just $20. I liked it so much I already wore it to brunch this morning. And, I’ll admit when I’m wrong — there are cute things at Kohl’s!

Stripes and dots and choices.

I’m so happy with my bedroom makeover, it’s quickly become my favorite room in the apartment. Of course I’m never finished with a room and still have little bits and pieces I want to change. At the top of my list is upgrading my sheets; they’ve seen better days and look extra tired next to my new duvet cover. Lucky for me, CSN Stores, purveyors of modern duvet covers and more has offered me a gift card to do just that!

But first I need your help. Do I buy the matching striped sheets? Or mix it up and go with a third pattern? Something simple like tiny dots? Or more bold and geometric? I can’t decide, what do you think?
