I’m so excited, my cousin just gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Samuel. And also exciting, I just finished a baby quilt for her… and don’t act surprised, I went with yellow and grey.
I’m jealous of the baby though, I want to keep it for myself. At least I have some fabric leftover, because I’m obsessed with the grey faux bois Joel Dewberry fabric:
omg i love it kate! fantastic job! i want it, too! lol
It’s beautiful!! May I ask where you got the fabric from and also was it hard to make? I have always wanted to make a quilt???
It was actually pretty easy to make, just time consuming. Cutting the squares is the hardest and most tedious part. If you bought pre-cut squares from a fabric store it would be a cinch!
All of the fabrics are from purlsoho, which has a nice website, and an ADORABLE store if you’re near NYC. (http://www.purlsoho.com/purl/products/fabric)
I know that the wood grain is a Joel Dewberry, but isn’t sold in grey anymore. You can probably find it on etsy though. And the solid yellow is an Amy Butler fabric.
Blanket looks lovely! The color scheme heralds Samuel’s birth into a very fashionable family. Congrats!
That’s awesome. Congrats on the baby and the blanket. You did a lovely job.
Good stuff.
