It’s been a month since I shared a download post with you guys. This year, holidays flowed into snow days and then into my birthday, and in a blink of an eye the first month of the year is halfway over. So let’s get right to it, there’s lots that’s been going on, which means there is lots to share! Party Prep. This week is extra exciting because Jane turns ONE on Saturday! I swore we were going to keep the celebrations low-key, but it turns out that’s impossible for me to do. We’re going to have a few friends and family over for a dinosaur-themed party, Jane’s favorite. As I type this, I have my Silhouette machine cutting out dinosaur garlands and a coat of paint drying on a big dinosaur cake topper. A big box of party supplies arrived and there will be dinosaur balloons, dinosaur napkins, and of course, dinosaur party favors. I can’t wait, because the only thing I love more than a themed party is my cute little dino-loving Janie.
A Fresh Start. How are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions? I shared a few thoughts on resolutions in my Happy New Year post, as I struggled to gain moment in the first few days of 2018. The good news is I feel like the year is off to a great start after that speed-bump (I blame post-holiday exhaustion and the blur of a week of snowstorms!). I am diving into my New Year’s reading list and finished The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living. I’m halfway through The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Being on a reading kick feels great after a long year of barely being able to finish reading a magazine.
New Recipes. I took a quick poll on Instagram a few weeks ago about what type of content readers were interested in seeing, and overwhelmingly people wanted two things: 1) more home content, and 2) more easy dinner ideas. I’m excited to say on the home front, I have a really great living room makeover coming to the blog soon (get a sneak peek here). As for easy dinner recipes, I’m getting to work! I shared a recipe for a crispy panko Brussels sprouts pasta, and an idea for a simple make-ahead meal of Roasted Red Pepper Chicken that I served with couscous and spinach. I’d love to hear more about what kinds of recipes you’re interested in, if you have thoughts leave them in the comments!
