I love a tasty gift – from homemade simple syrups, to boxes of cookies, even samplings of semi-homemade seasonal candies. These are my favorite kinds of presents to share with neighbors, teachers, and as little thank-you treats at the holiday season. I am sharing a few ideas for making and packaging these special treats with my friends at Christmas Tree Shops today – one of my favorite spots for finding seasonal wrapping and packaging supplies! This year, I actually let my wrapping inspire my gifts! I visited my local Christmas Tree Shops and gathered festive supplies first before deciding on my edible treats that I’d be packaging up. Christmas Tree Shops is one of my favorite places for festive (and super affordable) holiday wrapping. I found some sturdy, reusable gift boxes (decorative and reusable gift boxes are a nice eco-friendly alternative to wrapping paper that ends up in the trash!). I used these to wrap up more delicate gifts like my homemade simple syrups. Search simple syrup on my blog for tons of recipe inspiration. Christmas Tree Shops always had a great selection of glass bottles and jars for packaging these kinds of homemade gifts. To wrap up my cookies and candies I found a few different packaging ideas! There were gable-style boxes shaped like gingerbread houses, and Christmas tree printed food bags that I used for holding chocolate peppermint candies. I love to stock up on candy canes and holiday chocolates at Christmas Tree Shops, they’re festive filler to tie to gifts, use as stocking stuffers, or to nestle in with your homemade treats. One of my favorite finds was a really fun tree-shaped basket in punchy pink and green tones – I filled it with some craft crinkle paper and used it to display a big variety of Christmas cookies. This is such a nice gift to bring a hostess when you’re attending a party because they can just serve the treats right out of the basket at dessert time! My best find of the day at Christmas Tree Shops was a set of Santa mugs! These are really on-trend right now, I have a little collection growing of them. I filled them with festive holiday tissue paper from Christmas Tree Shops and nestled in some seasonal candies and chocolates – marshmallows and cocoa mix would be another fun idea! I love to pair these with a coffee shop gift card, or a gift card to their favorite store for a simple teacher gift – it’s thoughtful and useful and quite festive!
