Big update here people, it’s my birthday tomorrow! The nice thing about having your birthday right after Christmas, is you don’t feel guilty lusting over cute new products after the holiday rush — it’s totally allowed. So I’m sharing an updated ‘caught my eye’ list today with a few things I have on my radar. On the top of the list? Some new bedding — I have been scoping out Biscuit bedding for a possible bedroom refresh! And a cute water bottle to help me keep those new years resolutions… and the Mast Brothers chocolate cookbook for when I inevitably break them, right?

Happy Fourth of July! This is one my absolute favorite holidays — what’s not to love about a day of  sparklers, classic red white and blue outfits, and delicious bbq? I’m off to spend my day by the pool with friends, and then to see the Boston fireworks tonight. Hope you have a fabulous day celebrating too!

I’m dying to share pictures of the wedding, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share a few of the details from our rehearsal dinner. My lovely in-laws hosted a dinner at a waterfront restaurant near our wedding venue, and it was a perfect evening filled with all of my favorite things: fragrant peonies, gold polka-dot details, and lots and lots of nautical anchor motifs! Plus an amazing view out into the shipyards where our tasty dinner was freshly caught! Oh and did I mention the world’s best family and bridal party? DSC_0062DSC_0056

It’s been radio silence over here for a few days as I started my new job and have been preparing for that little event I’m planning: the wedding. We’re just two and half months away which means it’s becoming ‘go-time’ — I’ve been spending my evenings lining envelopes and neatly practicing writing out addresses. Just another week or so and those invites will be out the door (and then onto the next project!). Not that I’m complaining, playing with stationery, picking out ribbons and floral details, and writing to-do-lists happen to all fall in the category of my very favorite things.

It was a busy weekend! I had (lots) of drinks with my girlfriends at book club, caught a baseball game at Fenway, and checked off a few wedding tasks from the to-do-list! Picking up a print for our guest book table from the framer resulted in some major excitement; and addressing dozens of save-the-dates, a little less exciting but certainly productive! What did you do this weekend?

Wedding planning has officially become ‘real’ — our Save The Dates have arrived from the printer! I am so lucky to have a very talented bridesmaid that custom designed our stationery suite for us. I love the black and white color scheme with just a pop of bright green that will set the tone for the rest of the wedding; and the devil is the details; we ordered monogrammed stamps to match. Can’t wait to pop them in the mail this week!

I am absolutely horrible at keeping secrets — so the biggest challenge of wedding planning so far has been keeping wedding details under wraps, both on the blog and with friends and family. I just love talking about weddings so it’s been difficult to stop myself from sharing pictures of my wedding dress with my lovely readers! But I do have on tiny detail that I’m allowing a peek at: a gorgeous print from Scouts Honor Co that we had made to put on our guest book table. When I saw a similar sketch on the Scouts Honor Co blog, I knew it was the perfect for the wedding! (And I couldn’t help but share a picture of the packaging, isn’t it adorable?)
