Well guys, I’m certainly foodie and the party planner of my family — but I’m certainly not the fashionable one. I leave that job to my stylish sister Mara, and I’m super excited to announce that she’ll be joining the DomestiKatedLife team and contributing a monthly style column with tips and ideas for looking your best! To kick it off, she’s rounding up some last-minute accessory additions for the perfect New Year’s Eve look:

‘Tis the season to sparkle! With New Years Eve just around the corner (how did that happen so fast?), here a few ideas for accessories you can add to dress up a little black dress that’s already hanging in your closet (or consider buying a new one — this Old Navy version is under $20!). One accessory not pictured: copious amounts of champagne—cheers!

I think I’m finally finished with all of my Christmas shopping, but there’s always that one gift recipient that I’ll realize has slipped my mind just days before the holiday weekend. So, if you’re like me and need a few last-minute gift ideas, I’ve rounded up 20 festive finds that are on a budget — everything is under $25! The danger of putting these posts together? I’ve already done some shopping for myself: that polka-dot hat is mine!

From top left: pencils, whisk, shoe clips, initial watch, horse bottle opener, tart server, lobster earrings, twirl perfume, polka-dot hat, peace plate, magic wallet, pom-pom mittens, perpetual calendar, nail polish, volupsa candle, coasters, paddywax candle, heart sunglasses, notebooksred lipstick.

Though I’m sure you were excited to read this post because you thought I would bestow advice on how to be more like me, it’s another Kate I’m talking about today — Ms Middleton and her fashion sense. She’s no wild-child of style, but she does always look polished and dressed for the occasion.

Kate sticks to her roots with a Barbour jacket, and has been known on occasion to pair hers with some wellies for more casual days in the countryside. But for special occasions she gets a little more wild and dons some pretty wild fascinators in her hair. I think a Ban.Do ostrich pouf would do the trick for copy-Kates. And it’s no surprise the Brit loves her Burberry; she’s been seen wearing her Burberry trench to a handful of events since her engagement announcement. Plus we can’t forget what will forever be an iconic look for Kate: the blue wrap dress. The actual Issa dress sold out in less than a day after Kate wore it, but a million knock-offs are now available so we can all have our royal blue moment.
