I’m getting ready for the Super Bowl in a few hours and whipped up some rice krispy treats using cocoa krispies instead and cut them into mini-football shapes. YUM! Hope your Super Bowl Sunday is filled with tasty snacks!
Over the holiday weekend one of my friends hosted a pasta-making get together. I’ve never made fresh pasta before — it seemed way too complicated for me — but I was happily surprised to see it wasn’t too difficult at all! I helped with the dough making process, but my expertise was really in the eating portion of the night. I could have had a dozen servings, it was so delicious!
I snapped a few pictures on my phone on before guests arrived on New Years Eve. It was a fun-filled night with good friends and bubbly drinks. I’m still working on my resolutions for this year; I need a few days to recover from celebrating first!

Lately I’ve been doing a little thinking on an upcoming bridal shower I’m throwing for a friend with her other bridesmaids; think up a color scheme and theme is so much fun. I thought I’d share the moodboard I’ve been working on — it’s going to be a pink, black and white girly extravaganza. I hosted my book club for brunch this weekend and had fun setting the table with a new tablecloth and some Spring flowers. Champagne glasses and cloth napkins made a get together with the girls a little more special. I served popovers and fruit salad, and some delicious whole wheat banana pancakes with cinnamon butter, YUM!
Today seems like an appropriate day to share all of my Valentine’s Day girl’s night pictures. We had tons of fun, but then again, how can you not when the champagne is flowing and the cupcakes are stacked high? I’m still recovering from my sugar-high, I think Valentine’s Day dinner tonight will have to be something savory to balance my icing intake from the past few days. What are you doing for Valentine’s Day?
When it comes to entertaining, most of my dishes and glassware are white and clear, then I can have fun with accessories and linens to switch up the theme. I think that gold is the new neutral and is also a perfect backdrop for lots of color combinations too. Plus a touch of sparkly metallic makes them extra festive.
Of course Kate Spade is right on trend, with their champagne saucers and gold place settings (on sale on Gilt!). And I love the cross-hatch pattern on Vera Wang’s serving bowls (also on sale!). Plus, a little elf told me that those striped and polka-dot glasses may be under my tree on Christmas morning… I can’t wait!
Eddie Ross is a genius. This table setting is so phenomenal, I would genuinely feel bad eating off those plates. I love it so much, I want to frame it — or at least start scavenging etsy for some French opaline glasses.
