We have been so busy this summer with weddings,  house hunting, and family events so we took a little one-day ‘vacation’ trip up to Maine this weekend with one thing on the agenda: eat lobster rolls. Our first stop was in Wiscasset to try Red’s Eats, whose claim to fame is that they put more than a full lobster on their rolls. The roll was pretty tasty and the portions were not over-exaggerated. While we were in Wiscasset we popped into a few shops and I scooped up an healthy amount of fresh washi tape and paper goods at Rock Paper Scissor. Stop two was at Waterman’s Beach Lobster for lobster roll#2, which they serve on a hamburger bun! The lobster roll was great, but the real draw here is the amazing view and rhubarb pie that knocked my socks off (okay, maybe knocked my sandals off?). I’m going to have food-dreams about that thick, buttery, flakey pie crust. We  ended the day up in Camden, ME with cocktails from Pig + Poet  on the porch of White Hall — which was a pretty magnificent cap off to a perfect summer day!

I had my 10 year high school reunion this weekend, which made me feel pretty old. But you know what made me feel even more old? Taking two days to recover from staying up way too late with old buddies. Since I’m still shaking off my late night of drinking and gossiping, I have a light little post to share with you today — a few things that have caught my eye and are just too good not to share. I’m feeling this modern-cabin-vibe lately and just want to wear chunky neutral knits and classic pieces. That National Parks print? Obsessed.  And a quirky little door mat, I mean, everyone needs a little wit on their way out the door in the morning, right?

Some of my favorite bloggers are sharing their summer entertaining essentials for being a savvy hostess this season, up next in the series is my Boston buddy, Erika of Radiant Republic:

While my fiancé and I love visiting with friends in the city, most summer weekends are spent on Cape Cod. Our daytime wardrobes consist of bathing suits and boat shoes I sit down to dinner in a breezy dress and Jack Rogers. Summer entertaining is equally easy – and our favorite venue is on the sand of our favorite beach. Most hot days, our friends boat out to a hard-to-reach beach, anchor for the day, and spend hours playing bocce, seal watching, and floating in the cool Atlantic waters.

One: We love surprising our friends with fudge from the Chatham Candy Manor. They also have the most decadent chocolate covered Oreos! Two: Sparkling Rosé is a beach favorite… and this delicious Veuve Clicquot  version comes decked out in a pretty champagne koozie.

Three: Chanel bocce ball.  Disclaimer: This is not the set that we own (obviously.)

Four: Lilly Pulitzer tumblers are perfect for beach gatherings.

Five: Every Cape Cod-er needs a virtually indestructible LL Bean Boat Tote  for lugging summer accoutrements.

Six: We love these beach chairs by the Cape Cod Beach Chair Company!

What are your summer entertaining must-haves?  Thank you so much for having me today, Kate!  I am a big fan of your new series and can’t wait to see what the other guest bloggers come up with!  xx
