Personal Mantra.

This print pretty much sums up my personal mantra, I think it deserves a place in my kitchen. And they styling in this little scene? Spot on. I love the idea of using an old dresser as a bar — think of all the storage for linens and other party goods! Plus corralling the barware in an oversized basket keeps things neat and tidy, don’t you think?

Neon dipped.

Kitchen wares are top of mind as I’m starting to build our wedding registry; I’m loving the feature on Amazon’s registry that allows you to pull in items from other websites (like etsy!). In my browsing-mode I found these gorgeous neon dipped wooden bowls, spoons, and jars from Wind & Willow Home — something a little different from the department store basics!

Etsy can be a treasure trove, but finding the treasure takes lots of time and patience. I felt super lucky when Judy Kaufmann, an illustrator from Barcelona, sent me a link to her etsy shop full of colorful prints — the treasure fell in my lap!  I love her bright repetitive patterns and muted portraits of icons like Audrey Hepburn and Andy Warhol.

And you can have a piece of her work in your home, because Judy is kindly giving away any A4 print from her etsy shop to one of DomestiKatedLife’s readers!

5 under $50: Gingham

Is there any more quintessential pattern for Spring than gingham? This week’s 5 under $50 features ginghams of all types; I particularly think the gingham sunglasses would make a fine accessory addition to a white sundress for a warm day of brunching al fresco! Which gingham piece is your favorite?

Reader Poll: What are your favorite sources for artwork?

I’m looking to expand my art collection at home and need to fill in a few gaps to make the gallery wall of my dreams. So I’m putting the call out there, what are your favorite Etsy stores or online shops to source chic, inexpensive artwork? Do share!

Accessible Design.

The most recent issue of Lonny Magazine may just be my favorite yet; the interiors were stunning and different, and most of all, an amazing mix of high and low. This is why digital magazines are going to grow and thrive — their ability to balance design and accessibility. I was so happy when clicking on some of my favorite interior images from the issue to see art from Etsy and accessories from retailers like Ikea.

Red glasses.

Last week  I won a giveaway on Victoria’s site for an Emma Kisstina print (which I was very excited about, being a fan of her make-up prints). It was a fun little surprise waiting in the mailbox last night, especially with all of the Swedish stamps on the envelope — I was almost as excited about the postage as I was the print. Now, where to hang it up?

You can check out the rest of her prints here.

Arrows and Feathers.

A few people have emailed me asking where I got the chair prints hanging in my kitchen (seen here). Returning to the etsy shop to share the source, I found some newer hand printed linocuts by the artist Perla Anne that were too gorgeous not to share — I may have to add these two to my collection.

New prints.

I got two new prints for my apartment, one for my birthday last month, and the other I spotted online and had to have. I’ve been moving them around and trying to decide where they should live, but this weekend decided my bathroom needed a little artwork love. I was a little more chipper getting read for work on Monday morning looking at them (especially since I was running late and actually had to embrace my messy hair).
