The Fall Uniform.

Boston weather is making me a bit crazy this week — it’s freezing cold in the morning and then toasty warm by mid-day. I like to commit to a season, and I am ready for Fall. I’m already plotting my official switch from sandals and sundresses to my Fall Uniform … which pretty much consists of tights and boots with cozy dresses, and bright jeans with soft striped tees. What’s your Fall uniform?

Think Pink.

Do you ever do a look through your old pins and realize a pattern? I picked up on a hot pink moment I’ve been having lately — from rooms to parties, clothes to furniture — everything seems to be electric pink. Another nice thing about revisiting old pins? Realizing the products you pinned are now on sale!

Ribbon, Nars nail polish, Butter nail polish, Dress (on sale!), Beach Chair, T-Shirt (on sale!), Couch, Bracelet (on sale!), Ticket.

5 Under $50: Natural and Neon.

I’m always on the hunt for fashionable bargains, so I’ve decided to start a new series called 5 under $50 and round-up some of my favorite finds on a budget. This combination of hot pinks and natural materials like bamboo and cork has me thinking about Spring!

Sweater ($22), Belt ($45), Bracelets ($15), Ballet flats ($49), Nail polish ($8)

Passports and Pearls.

I’m no beauty expert, but one product that I’m always willing to experiment with is nail polish. I love switching up colors and trying new techniques. So today, I’m guest posting over on Passports and Pearls and sharing some of my all-time favorite nail polish colors, and a few new tones I’m excited to try for the holiday season. Head over and check it out.

Jazz hands.

Inspired by a post yesterday on Joanna’s blog, I popped into the pharmacy last night and bought some Salon Effects nail strips. I can NOT stop looking at how sparkly my nails are… they’re twinkling as I type! I was a little skeptical with press-on application, but they really feel like regular nail polish and were extremely easy to apply. Everyone needs a little glitter in their life, right?

Neon bright.

I saw this picture and was inspired this weekend to break out a little neon myself. I painted my nails a similar neon-orange and stacked on some pink and gold bracelets — isn’t it so Summer-y and fun? Lets hope some warm weather isn’t too far away — I could get used to this bright color palette.

Twinkle toes.

Shoes, dresses, tops, jewels and headwear… it was only a matter of time before our nails got sparkly metallic treatment too. Must find a nail salon that does this!

A grey kind of day.

I’ve been coveting Chanel’s particuliere grey nail polish shade since I saw it hit the runway during the Spring 2010 show. But, among ridiculous splurges that I indulge, $23 nail polish is not among them.

Last night, doing a few errands, I wandered through the beauty aisles at CVS and stumbled upon a perfect match to the Chanel shade and a perfect match to my budget: Rimmel’s Steele Grey. A perfect dusty grey for this bleak, rainy Boston day.
