I got to kick the week off at a really fun event with some of my favorite Boston blogger ladies. My friends Julie and Meg run a calligraphy pop-up class called Sip & Script and hosted a session at the most darling home and gift shop in Southie, Neatly Nested. The concept is right up my alley, they get a bunch of friends together, pop some bubbly and pour some cocktails, and teach you the basics of calligraphy. Crafting and cocktails? Yes, please. Speaking of cocktails, they tapped me to craft up a recipe for the signature drink for the night — we enjoyed my spiked and sparkling lemonade and it was a hit. We were refilling glasses and talking about how it’s “sneaky” spiked — you can get the recipe in the images below if you want to mix one up yourself! The venue was adorable, I got there early to do some shopping and snagged a bunch of little trinkets from their beautifully curated selection. And the class itself was so interesting. I consider myself a pretty skilled DIY-er and I couldn’t have attempted calligraphy on my own — I learned a ton and found the writing practice so relaxing. I can’t wait to do it again, it would be such a fun idea for a girl’s night, birthday party, or even a bachelorette activity! If you’re local, I highly recommend checking out their class schedule, and give Neatly Nested a visit too — you’ll leave with a shopping bag full of the cutest treats!
You guys have the cutest events in Boston!! Love!
What a great girl’s night idea! I can’t wait to make your spiked lemonade too!
This would be write (pun intended) up my alley! Another blogger friend recently did one of these nights – though not a Neatly Nested and she too said calligraphy is very relaxing. I think I’m going to have to try this!
I always love being able to add a little embellishment to my thank you notes and cards and this could be just the thing. Plus summer drink recipe… Yeah I’m on board.
