We’ve had quite a week around here. Last weekend was filled with houseguests and beach days and holiday weekend BBQs. Until Sunday night when I was knocked down by a stomach bug that kept me couch-ridden for 48 hours. It hit my husband next, right as I was coming out on the other side of the worst of it. We’ve been recovering, cleaning, and generally quarantining ourselves over here since mid-week. Between the great 2017 stomach virus and the holiday weekend, we blinked and the whole week passed us by. I’m telling myself we’ll catch up next week; Friday feels like we’re hitting the re-set button. Before I sign off though, I wanted to share my Friday download with a few fun links, products and recent blog posts worth sharing. Plus a cute picture of Janie, because after this week we all need to pop the bottle and have a drink!New Recipes. I’ve been rolling out some fun summer appetizer recipes like my Patriotic Chips and Dip (I loved all of the comments I got on social media about the peppers and pitas!) and tasty Olive Bruschetta Cups. Cocktails made it into the mix too, we dunked popsicles in prosecco and set up a New England style Bloody Mary Bar served in my new custom Lobster cups!
Pizza and Videos. Speaking of recipes, I have been working on some new recipe video content for the site and launched a quick and easy clip last week. The recipe features a new summer favorite: Grilled Breakfast Pizza. My sister is visiting in two weeks and already requested it for brunch during her stay.
Beach Style. Despite living only one-mile from the beach, we only had our first true beach day of the summer this past weekend. Beach bags are on the mind, and I rounded up my favorite beach tote options in tons of price ranges on the blog. On the topic of summer accessories, I’m obsessed with these chambray and leather sandals – on sale this week! I’m also digging all of J.Crew’s new arrivals – I think a watermelon bathing suit and this peplum top will end up in my shopping cart before the day is over.
Featured. I was excited to see this site pop up in two fun articles this week. Care.com listed this site as one of their favorite local Mom-blogs, and it was a treat to be included with some of my own favorite mom-bloggers-slash friends like Oh, I Design Blog and The Boston Day Book. My friends at Alice’s Table also featured this newbie-mom in an article on their site about work-at-home-mom confessions and our tips for success (from my short tenure as a mom!).
