After a rather busy week last week, I was so happy to have a lazy Sunday on the books over the weekend. I caught up on blogs and my DVR, lounged around in my cozy new sweatshirt, and got a pot of bolognese cooking for the better part of the afternoon. Making a big pot of tomato sauce just reminds me of being at my Grandma’s house growing up — the smell of the garlic and onions filling up the whole house. I used a recipe from Williams-Sonoma as my guide, but made it my own with a few ingredient swaps. ย It totally hit the spot and exceeded my expectations. It’s a recipe that I’ll be adding to my cookbook file for future reference, comfort food at its best!
Wow this looks really yummy! I could go for a entire bowl of it right now ๐
Nothing makes your house smell better than sauce simmers. It immediately feels like Sunday!
That sounds so perfect for a cool fall day ๐ Aaaaand now I’m hungry haha!
Well share your changes please- looks yum!
Taz — I didn’t use the celery because my lovely husband thought it was a snack and ate it all ๐ And I used bacon instead of pancetta — since I couldn’t find pancetta at the store!
This looked so yum, I am making bolognese tonight!
Ahhh bolognese – the perfect Sunday comfort food, preferably eaten in slippers and house pants ๐ Claire xx

I’m coming to your house next weekend! Looks delish!
This is my secret weapon! I use it all the time, especially for lasagna! Always a crowd pleaser. I’ve even used it as a base for a vegetarian take ๐
