Did you feel that touch of cool in the air this weekend? It’s causing me to go crazy with lust over fall fashion — I’m pulling out the black dresses and animal prints, and mixing in some bright accessories (like that hot pink bib necklace from Bauble Bar that just arrived in my mailbox this weekend).  These are just a few of the things on my radar this week:

Necklace ($36), Clutch ($187), Skirt ($45), Heels ($198)

Some of my favorite bloggers are sharing their summer entertaining essentials for being a savvy hostess this season, up next in the series is the lovely Liz of Sequins & Stripes…

Hi there! It’s Liz from the fashion and style blog, Sequins & Stripes, and I am thrilled to be here today sharing some of my go-to’s for easy summer entertaining. Because the summer months tend to be crazy busy, impromptu parties are usually the easiest to throw together and the most fun to create. I like to keep a few pieces constantly stocked in my kitchen {like these pretty paper napkins, a book of cocktail recipes, and easy decor} and add a few details to make the party feel special. This summer I dream of bringing a Palm Springs inspired girls brunch to my patio in Chicago…

Design Darling mini vases  //  Macaroons and Sweets from my favorite local bakery  //  Bottomless glasses of champagne  //  Mrs. Lilien’s Cocktail Swatchbook  //  Pretty patterned napkins  //  Kate Spade Market Street Plates  //  Bamboo Flatware  //  Pretty Design Darling topiaries for additional decor  //  Society Social Fifi Chairs for seating  //  Colorful bistro tables  //  A striped umbrella to shade my guests from the summer sun

I would request that all of my guests dress in their favorite sunnies and biggest and brightest baubles, wouldn’t that be lovely? A huge thank you to Kate for having me today! Happy summertime to everyone!

Have you seen this new limited edition Chandon bottle for Summer? I’m making it my mission to find some to pop on the Fourth of July — and of course it would pair so well with a little red, white, and blue number. Peplums, stripes, and a little dash of red is a winning combination for a patriotic celebration, don’t you think?

I’ve been missing on the blog for the past week because life has been busy! I had some relaxing time on the Cape with friends, traveled to NYC for work, and hosted my mom and sister at my apartment for the weekend for some wedding planning. When life gets busy sometimes the blog gets put on the back burner, but I was still snapping away pics on instagram to capture a few moments like dinner at Eataly in NY, my pedicure color of the moment, a special delivery for my wedding day attire from Kate Spade, and my new Madewell bracelet making an appearance in the bracelet mix.

This time of year there are a few weeks when Boston gets a little quiet because all of the college students go home for Spring Break. This is awesome if you are in college and get to go on said break. But, if you are a grown up you stay in Boston and look out your window at the beautiful spring weather and daydream about how much fun it would be to take spring break again. And since it’s my daydream, I feel pretty confident I could rock a tiny nautical bikini like this one:

Bathing suit, bracelet, hat, scarf, shoes

I think I’m finally finished with all of my Christmas shopping, but there’s always that one gift recipient that I’ll realize has slipped my mind just days before the holiday weekend. So, if you’re like me and need a few last-minute gift ideas, I’ve rounded up 20 festive finds that are on a budget — everything is under $25! The danger of putting these posts together? I’ve already done some shopping for myself: that polka-dot hat is mine!

From top left: pencils, whisk, shoe clips, initial watch, horse bottle opener, tart server, lobster earrings, twirl perfume, polka-dot hat, peace plate, magic wallet, pom-pom mittens, perpetual calendar, nail polish, volupsa candle, coasters, paddywax candle, heart sunglasses, notebooksred lipstick.

All you need is just a dash of detail to make a simple patent pump a coveted statement piece — and a black and white striped heel does just that. Thank you, Kate Spade, for feeding my stripe obsession even more!

Don’t you love it when you have one of those AHA! moments for a DIY project? I have been majorly crushing on the Kate Spade Bixby clutch, and crossing my fingers for a miracle sale so I can make it mine. But it turns out, I may have found a way to actually make it mine. I found a similar style clutch at Nordstrom’s that is just begging for a little hot glue, paint, and a few wooden beads, don’t you think?
