Thom Filicia’s lake house tour might be my all time favorite spread from Domino Magazine — I tore out and saved those images long before ‘pinning’ them was an option. So I let out a gasp when I saw House Beautiful published updated photos of the space in this month’s issue to promote his new book, American Beauty, written about renovating the home. The book is certainly getting pre-ordered, and these pictures added to the inspiration file!

Interior design and fashion trends go hand in hand, and looking at  the Spring 2012 runway trends, it’s clear to see that neon is here to stay. Including neon elements in your decor can seem daunting for those unaccustomed to bold colors. But the best way to incorporate neon into your home is the same way you should incorporate it into your wardrobe — by pairing bright pinks and yellows with neutral tones and keeping shapes clean and simple. Over on the Keep Domino Alive site, bloggers have been recounting some of the great icons of style that the magazine used in many of the issues. Today, Beth of Style Redux posted about how antlers were brought from the ski house to the downtown loft on the pages of Domino.

I’ve always loved their rustic accent to a room, but there is something a bit jarring about a full animal skull looming over the room.
