Valentine’s Day Gift Guide.

Did I mention yesterday how much I love Valentine’s Day? I’ve been eyeing lots of cute little Valentine’s Day-inspired gifts lately, from trinkets for your girlfriends to a few little gifts I wouldn’t mind myself (yes, I mean you, you darling little gem locket!). Who’s your Valentine’s Day gift list? Untitled-1

On my radar.

Did you feel that touch of cool in the air this weekend? It’s causing me to go crazy with lust over fall fashion — I’m pulling out the black dresses and animal prints, and mixing in some bright accessories (like that hot pink bib necklace from Bauble Bar that just arrived in my mailbox this weekend).  These are just a few of the things on my radar this week:

Necklace ($36), Clutch ($187), Skirt ($45), Heels ($198)

5 Under $50: Anchors Aweigh

This week’s 5 under $50 was inspired by one of the motifs we’re using in our wedding invites — anchors! It seems like they’re the shape of the moment; they’re on just about everything! These are 5 of my favorites for bargain, plus a bonus for your home (don’t you love the bottle opener?):

Bracelet ($45), iPhone case ($25), Bottle Opener ($9), T-shirt ($40), Espadrilles ($25), Earrings ($19)

5 Under $50: Electric Pink

This week’s 5 under $50 couldn’t be contained to just 5 — I had to add in one extra item because there are so many fun neon pieces out for Summer. Hot pink pairs perfectly with a white tee and a beach-y glow, don’t you think? Are you playing with electric pink in your wardrobe this season?

Bathing Suit top ($20) and bottom ($20), necklace ($28), BaubleBar earrings ($34), belt ($10), Old Navy flip flops ($15), J.Crew canvas tote ($36)

Coral Capabilities.

I got a touch of a tan sitting out this weekend and my immediate reaction was to pull out the turquoise jewelry and white shirts — I have to maximize my minimal tanning capabilities with complementary hues! Turquoise is always going to be a Summer staple, but I’ve been neglecting another natural warm-weather texture: corals. They also pair perfectly with a white sundress, and I’m digging the fun textures and shapes in these pieces — isn’t that necklace fabulous? And PS: that adorable monogrammed tote bag? It’s actually a cooler — can you think of a cuter way to tote your drinks and snacks to the beach? Do you have any coral in your collection?

5 Under $50: Bright Studs

I’m a pearl earrings kind of gal; I wear big pearl studs almost every single day of  the week. Sometimes a girl has to mix it up though, and when I venture from my safety net I  gravitate towards bright pops of color from simple stud earrings. Here are a few of my favorites, all under $50:

Green ($24), Blue ($32), Orange ($25), Yellow ($38), and Pink ($45)

Spring Break Daydream.

This time of year there are a few weeks when Boston gets a little quiet because all of the college students go home for Spring Break. This is awesome if you are in college and get to go on said break. But, if you are a grown up you stay in Boston and look out your window at the beautiful spring weather and daydream about how much fun it would be to take spring break again. And since it’s my daydream, I feel pretty confident I could rock a tiny nautical bikini like this one:

Bathing suit, bracelet, hat, scarf, shoes

Valentine’s day fashion

Valentine’s Day is just a week away! I won’t be throwing a big party like I did last year, but that doesn’t mean I won’t dress the part. I’ll find any excuse to rock my ban.do heart and break out pinks and reds from my closet. But not everyone is ready for a full on pink and red color assault, so I put together two heart-inspired outfits that are little more subtle. Do you have any heart accessories picked out special for Valentine’s Day?

Outfit 1: Sunglasses, dress, shoes

Outfit 2: Bracelets, dress, pins, shoes

Soiree Statements.

It’s holiday cocktail party season, and I’m running out of dresses! My solution? Major statement pieces to jazz up my look and transform simple black dresses into a bevy of outfit options. These big pieces are all about balance; I’ll mix a chunky cocktail ring with large earrings, but pair simple pearls with the giant bib necklaces.
