Summer Entertaining Essentials with Radiant Republic.
Some of my favorite bloggers are sharing their summer entertaining essentials for being a savvy hostess this season, up next in the series is my Boston buddy, Erika of Radiant Republic:
While my fiancé and I love visiting with friends in the city, most summer weekends are spent on Cape Cod. Our daytime wardrobes consist of bathing suits and boat shoes I sit down to dinner in a breezy dress and Jack Rogers. Summer entertaining is equally easy – and our favorite venue is on the sand of our favorite beach. Most hot days, our friends boat out to a hard-to-reach beach, anchor for the day, and spend hours playing bocce, seal watching, and floating in the cool Atlantic waters.

Three: Chanel bocce ball. Disclaimer: This is not the set that we own (obviously.)
Four: Lilly Pulitzer tumblers are perfect for beach gatherings.
Five: Every Cape Cod-er needs a virtually indestructible LL Bean Boat Tote for lugging summer accoutrements.
Six: We love these beach chairs by the Cape Cod Beach Chair Company!
What are your summer entertaining must-haves? Thank you so much for having me today, Kate! I am a big fan of your new series and can’t wait to see what the other guest bloggers come up with! xx
Behind the lens.
As a blogger, my camera accompanies me on almost all of my adventures and being the accessory hoarder that I am, I’m thinking my Nikon needs a little more pizzazz. So, I’ve been researching some new straps to dress up my camera. Even if I’m behind the lens, I still want to look chic! Which do you like? Preppy, classic, or glam?
More flats.
One more pair of cap toed flats that had to be shared; the classic:

A grey kind of day.
I’ve been coveting Chanel’s particuliere grey nail polish shade since I saw it hit the runway during the Spring 2010 show. But, among ridiculous splurges that I indulge, $23 nail polish is not among them.
Last night, doing a few errands, I wandered through the beauty aisles at CVS and stumbled upon a perfect match to the Chanel shade and a perfect match to my budget: Rimmel’s Steele Grey. A perfect dusty grey for this bleak, rainy Boston day.
FauxCo Chanel.
SJP has been rocking Chanel in multiple magazine spreads the past few weeks (Elle, Glamour) and making me lusty for a Coco inspired cardigan for myself…(How freaking adorable is that second picture? Love her.)

I’ll have to settle for some FauxCo Chanel though, and luckily Forever21 is pumping out the Coco inspired looks lately:
Jealous of a teenager.
That’s right, I’m tip-toeing towards 25 and I’m jealous of a teenager. This girl just has the coolest life ever. She blogged about her expensive shoes and fancy vintage designer clothes… got a deal with Urban Outfitters to design a line of shoes… gets to go to photo shoots and chat it up with Olivia Palermo… and THEN she gets invited to the Crillon Ball and gets to rock Chanel couture. I mean, who wouldn’t be jealous? Just LOOK at that dress!

Serving up luxury.
I’m not shy about this, I love MTV reality tv shows. I’m pretty excited that The City is back for a second season, and watching this week reminded me of a post I did on Whitney and Olivia’s apartments last winter. Going back and looking at those pictures I’m struck with lust for the Hermes tray in Olivia’s living room.

It’s not the only luxury brand serving tray I’ve seen lately though, on ILoveLolliBlog a Chanel tray also caught my eye.

I’ve been trying to source these and found one on auction website, and was shocked when nothing came up on eBay (I thought you could find anything on eBay!).

Elizabeth at Midwest Modern seems to have found them though, and right in my city! Hudson, in Boston’s South End, carries some and can order them in LouisVuitton too… good find Elizabeth! I’ll be adding this to my ‘when I win the lottery’ wishlist (which seems to be growing lately).

Sweating in style.
Do you ever get into an exercise slump? I’m pretty much stuck in a constant state of slump… it’s been so hard to motivate myself to go this week with all of the non-stop rain this week. I need to kick it back into high-gear tomorrow though, and in a very very very unrealistic daydream, I’m thinking that this outfit would help my motivation:
Speaking of cute outfits, my very stylish and savvy younger sister just started a blog, called ‘Chic for Cheap,’ that is all about getting fashion-forward looks for less, I highly recommend checking it out!
