Inspiring interiors.
Sometimes I forget that back when I started this blog, it was all about interiors. Now I’m posting about parties and fashion and food and beauty… it’s easy to forget your roots. Until of course, something inspiring comes along and I’m right back to where I began, writing about gorgeous interior design. Two rooms in the past week have made that inspiration light bulb flicker on. One by Nick Olsen for House Beautiful, the other by Tori of Sitting In A Tree Events – both are very different, yet both polished and feminine. Which is your favorite?

Gothic beauty.
Every once and awhile an interior shot comes along that makes me drop a little drool on my keyboard (go ahead, judge, you know you do it too) and this is one of them. It’s a dash gothic and so feminine. Lets add a velvet settee to my Christmas list. Santa, are you listening?

Sugar and spice and everything nice.
Do you ever see someone with a great outfit on and wonder, what does her apartment look like? Well I was pretty excited for this reason when my friend Lis posted pictures of her new apartment online, because I’ve been a big fan of her personal style and was dying to see how it would translate in her home. This girl can pull off a leather jacket and still get away with girly accents like framed fashion sketches, and Eiffel Tower models, so I will dub her personal style as ’sugar and spice.’
Her living room: perfection. I love the hints of a feminine, Parisian theme paired with the clean lines of the furniture. And that pillow? Love. I’ve been eyeing some vintage inspired dish towels with a similar look from Cat Studio to make one myself!
And as for the rest of the apartment, it’s all in the details. Whimsical jars of candy on the countertop, repurposed flea market frames with a fresh coat of paint, and framed paper dolls on the walls.
My favorite piece though is an end table that got revived with a little decoupage and layers of maps, postcards, and paper to keep with the Parisian theme. It’s so delicate and unique… and now I want one too!
Thanks Lis for letting me share your inspiring place, it was a treat!
