All American Girl.

Kicking off my long holiday weekend like any good American… with a few girlfriends, a few cocktails, and tickets to see Lady Gaga! Try and top that!

Gaga for toys.

The ol’ 25th birthday is creeping up on me (tomorrow!), and I’m getting nostalgic. Birthdays used to be all about ripping open boxes with Barbies inside, now they’re all about ripping open bottles of champagne (not that I’m complaining).

Toys are not on Adult Kate’s birthday list, but if 8-year old Kate was around today, I would surely have put some Lady Gaga inspired Barbies and My Little Ponies on the list…

Elle Gaga.

Joe Zee is not good at managing socialites, but he is good at styling magazine cover shoots. You can’t win ‘em all Joe, but good job on this one:

Side note: poor Britney, she’s a second-level story below Gaga.

Gaga for Gossip.

My brain might not be able to handle these two worlds colliding tonight… Gaga on Gossip Girl? Sensory overload. Lady Gaga on Gossip Girl

I imagine they’d have a lot to talk about, like tea cups, taking over the world, trends in hair accessories…  Speaking of trends in hair accessories, check out this collection of headbands that’s been worn by Blair’s minions on the show from Pas Comme Les Moutons, swoon:

Gaga for teacups.

It’s amazing how I find some crazy people aggravating, and other crazy people I find completely infatuating. Lady Gaga belongs to the latter group; she is a total crazypants and I love it! I have been reading that she travels with a special vintage purple tea set everywhere she goes, and throws diva fits when it’s misplaced.

I don’t blame her frankly, it’s a precious tea set and eco-friendly to carry your own beverage container! Scanning some sites for a similar teacup for myself (perhaps to keep on my desk at work for a bit of chai, or a well-timed diva fit of my own) it seems that tea cups have been taking on a life of their own lately and are being re-purposed for some other creative recylcing projects.

Lindsay Pemberton, a New Zealand ‘upcycler’ makes these funky bangle bracelets by using a diamond saw to cut vintage teacups into wearable art:

I haven’t found a perfect Lady Gaga tea cup yet, but I will be keeping my eyes peeled for them at flea markets this summer!
