Since the new year is time all about updating our routines and making healthy choices, I thought it was the perfect time to update my favorite clean beauty products list. In past years I’ve shared all of my favorite Beautycounter products – being a consultant, I get a great discount and tend to use mostly their products. But this time I expanded the list to include several products from other clean beauty brands that I’ve tested this year. I’m all about finding more affordable and accessible options. See all my favorite clean beauty products and clean beauty brands to kick off 2023 below:My Beautycounter Clean Beauty Favorites:

Charcoal Mask. This is my #1 product I recommend to people trying Beautycounter for the first time! I often compare it to the grown-up version of Biore nose strips – as it dries you can see it extracting gunk out of every one of your pores – so satisfying!

All Bright C-Serum. This serum is my morning pick-me-up! It’s packed with vitamin C and antioxidants and instantly brightens my skin when I put it on after my shower each day. I have found that a lot of serums can be too oily for my skin, but this one goes on very lightly and absorbs fast so I can layer it easily under my makeup.

Overnight Resurfacing Peel. The overnight peel is my night-time counterpart to the C-Serum. You put it on at night and it works it’s magic while you’re sleeping — the formula clears away dull surface cells and leaves skin feeling brighter and healthier. I find that’s very gentle and doesn’t dry out your skin like other peels.

Cheeky Clean Cream Blush. I have been a loyal bronzer user for decades, but after the last few months of mask wearing and seeing it build up inside my mask, I started to push it aside. My friend recommended these cream blushes for adding just a hint of rose-y pink color back in my cheeks and I love the glow it creates! Plus it comes in refillable, sustainably designed packaging!

Clean Deo. I was very skeptical about making the clean deodorant switch but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness, the scents, and how easily it glides on — it’s a game changer! And I’m a big fan of the eco-friendly refillable packaging that it comes in. (If you want try out different scents, try the mini-sizes while they’re still in stock!)

Brilliant Brow Gel. This is a secret weapon for looking put together in just a few quick minutes. Outside of my daily mascara, I love to give my light brows a little swipe of this tinted gel to give my eyebrows a finished look.

Clear Pore Cleanser. This daily exfoliating cleanser is my go-to for taking off my makeup and getting my skin clean in the shower. The gentle exfoliation helps unclog pores without being overly drying – and the citrus scent is so refreshing!

Mineral Sunscreen. I love this mineral based sunscreen, formulated with non-nano zinc oxide, making it a reef-friendly option for protecting your skin and the oceans! Plus because it’s made with clean ingredients, I can toss it my bag and use it on both kids and adults.

Ok, now for my non-Beautycounter Clean Beauty Favorite Products!

Honest Beauty Eyeliners. Beautycounter doesn’t currently have an eyeliner, so I use the Honest Beauty Pencil Eyeliner for my daily make up routine, and use the Honest Beauty Liquid Eyeliner for a “going out” look. Both are available at Target, under $12, and are EWG certified, meaning they meet EWG’s strictest standards for health and safety (phew).

Honest Beauty Tinted Lip Balm. Once I got hooked on those two eye products, I started to try some more of the Honest Beauty line, and have several colors of their tinted lip balm. The shades are gorgeous (my favorites are “summer melon” and “fruit punch”) and go on with a semi-sheer color – I’d say it’s almost a cross between a lipstick and chapstick.

Tower28 Mascara. The punchy colors in the Tower28 make up packaging totally drew me in, and when I saw that they made a clean formulated and water resistant mascara I was excited. When I saw that the mascara was $20 I was even more excited! It goes on with a very thin curved brush and gives my lashes lots of length.

Native Deodorant. There’s alway a moment when I realize I’m out of the Beautycounter deodorant and I need an emergency Target run for a replacement before my shipment arrives, and that’s how I got into Native Deoderant – I love the Cucumber & Mint scent. It’s free of aluminum, parabens, sulfates, and phalates, and ranks well as a safe option on EWG.org (plus it’s got a nice $12 price tag).

Ilia Lipstick. When I was first dabbling in clean beauty research, Ilia was the first brand I got into thanks to the lovely display of their products at the Follain store in Boston. Their lipstick has a luxurious texture and the colors give such a rich, long-lasting tint.

A few last thoughts on how to get Clean Beauty deals!

If you’re looking to test out a new clean beauty make-up routine, I always tell people to start with the Flawless in Five set. It comes with 5 of the core Beautycounter make-up products at a discounted bundle rate. You can pick and choose from a few options and build your set – it’s a great way to try new products and give your routine a clean beauty overhaul!

One other way to save on your Beautycounter is to sign up for their emails, and use the code CLEANFORALL20 on your first purchase with that email for 20% off. If you’re already a client, but you order with a new email (like a work email), the discount code should work.

I also always recommend checking out the Last Chance section of the Beautycounter website for sale items. The brand is always reformulating products to make them more sustainably sourced and packaged, so often some of your favorite products can be discounted as they phase out packaging. There’s also often travel-sized products on sale from holiday gift sets, and they’re a great way to sample items at a lower cost!
