I love visiting Christmas Tree Shops for seasonal inspiration because they tend to have decorations and holiday goods on their shelves a few weeks earlier than other stores, which is always helpful for planning content for the blog. But I also love visiting there for seasonal inspiration because there is so much variety to choose from, and the prices are incredibly affordable. There is usually one item that jumps out at me and kicks off my vision for a table design and on this visit, it was a set of green wire baskets that got my wheels turning for a festive tablescape.I filled the baskets with crinkly pink, purple and green paper grass and topped them off with speckled eggs in pastel colors for an easy centerpiece, while tucking in some bunny candle holders and blue and green tapers – everything from the Christmas Tree Shops! I love using things like the candle holders and basket filler eggs that can be used again next year. We also have been using taper candles in our dining room for “Fancy Friday” dinners at home and I find that Christmas Tree Shops is a great place to stock up on them in a variety of colors! The pastel eggs tied in perfectly to the pastel plaid tablecloth, blue gingham table runner and napkins that I found at Christmas Tree Shops – I love layering in different scale patterns to bring in color and depth to a table design. For the place settings I found white hobnail plates there, which remind me of some vintage hobnail milk glass pieces I have in my collection. It’s fun way to mix new and old on a table. I also found some simple, organic textured glassware that is versatile enough to work for water, wine, or kids’ drinks. I love to add playful elements to the table that make things feel fun for the kids and bring some nostalgic nods to the adults. I used crystal footed bowls that I found at Christmas Tree Shops and filled them up with chocolate easter eggs and added some chocolate easter bunnies on each place setting too. (Side note: if you’re hunting for Easter basket fillers, the Easter candy selection at Christmas Tree Shops was so good – I snagged some paw patrol chocolates for Jane’s basket!).I love the table feels cozy, approachable, festive, and seasonal – it’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday with family and friends.
