DryBar NYC.

When I went to NYC this weekend I tried DryBar, and  I’m usually quite camera-shy but  it was SO good that  I’m actually posting pictures of myself on the blog. Yea, it was that good. It’s such a fun atmosphere and the attention to detail is phenomenal. From the chick-flicks playing on TVs, to the iPhone docks at each seat, to the bright yellow chandeliers made out of hair dryers, it was all around a great girl’s day with my mom and sister at the salon (and we all looked quite fabulous when we headed out to go see Newsies that evening in the city!).

Shades of Green.

I started digging through September issues over the weekend and LOVED seeing all of the green in the pages. I picked a kelly green fabric for the bridesmaid dresses in our wedding (check out the swatch below) and was inspired by a dress I saw Mara Rooney wear — I just love how bright and crisp the color looks! Have you seen this new limited edition Chandon bottle for Summer? I’m making it my mission to find some to pop on the Fourth of July — and of course it would pair so well with a little red, white, and blue number. Peplums, stripes, and a little dash of red is a winning combination for a patriotic celebration, don’t you think?

Bright summer espadrilles.

I’ve never owned traditional espadrille flats; but after slipping into a pair while browsing at J.Crew this past weekend, that may not be for long. I love the bright colors they’ve chosen for this quintessential summer shoe. plus they were oh-so-comfortable. Now, which color would you choose?

Purple and Red.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with bold royal purples and bright tomato reds in my closet. I snagged a light silky purple blouse from Old Navy last week and paired with some of my favorite red chino shorts; then I spotted a purple and red necklace on the sale rack at J.Crew this weekend and scooped it up! I usually associate these colors with the rich hues reserved for the Fall, but pairing them together in light weight fabrics is working for me this Spring. What do you think of this color combination?

Spring Break Daydream.

This time of year there are a few weeks when Boston gets a little quiet because all of the college students go home for Spring Break. This is awesome if you are in college and get to go on said break. But, if you are a grown up you stay in Boston and look out your window at the beautiful spring weather and daydream about how much fun it would be to take spring break again. And since it’s my daydream, I feel pretty confident I could rock a tiny nautical bikini like this one:
