Though I’m sure you were excited to read this post because you thought I would bestow advice on how to be more like me, it’s another Kate I’m talking about today — Ms Middleton and her fashion sense. She’s no wild-child of style, but she does always look polished and dressed for the occasion.

Kate sticks to her roots with a Barbour jacket, and has been known on occasion to pair hers with some wellies for more casual days in the countryside. But for special occasions she gets a little more wild and dons some pretty wild fascinators in her hair. I think a Ban.Do ostrich pouf would do the trick for copy-Kates. And it’s no surprise the Brit loves her Burberry; she’s been seen wearing her Burberry trench to a handful of events since her engagement announcement. Plus we can’t forget what will forever be an iconic look for Kate: the blue wrap dress. The actual Issa dress sold out in less than a day after Kate wore it, but a million knock-offs are now available so we can all have our royal blue moment.

Let’s be honest here, this little shindig happening on Friday, the royal wedding? People are excited about it, I mean, the girl is marrying prince-charming. But what am I really excited about? The dress. It’s all about the dress.

I was watching a special on TV this weekend about Princess Diana’s dress and I learned that during the broadcast of her wedding dress makers began sketching and cutting patterns immediately in order to replicate the look. Knock-offs of that famous dress were assembled and for sale in less than 24 hours after the wedding aired!

I know I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for the first glimpse of white.

Grace, Carrie, Audrey, Jackie, Priscilla and Carolyn have all worn amazingly iconic wedding day looks. I’m sure Kate can expect the same royal treatment.

Usually I’m obsessing about stripes or polka dots, but I think 2011 is going to be the year of gingham. I just picked up a gingham button down at J.Crew a few weeks ago and I love how it goes with everything. I have a growing wishlist now to incorporate a little more cheery check in my life.

I saw this picture and was inspired this weekend to break out a little neon myself. I painted my nails a similar neon-orange and stacked on some pink and gold bracelets — isn’t it so Summer-y and fun? Lets hope some warm weather isn’t too far away — I could get used to this bright color palette.

I love this image of stacks of striped tees — it’s a similar to scene my dressing room at the J.Crew outlet this weekend; it took much willpower not to buy a full wardrobe of stripes.

I wrote about the Warby Parker samples I received, polled readers on twitter for their suggestions, and finally decided on the Miles frames. My new glasses arrived and they’re easily my favorite accessory right now — I had lots of fun trying them on with different outfits and finally wearing them out with girlfriends this weekend. Plus it’s nice to be able to read street signs off in the distance again.

Just as my new specs arrived, Warby Parker has come out with even more styles. I’m already narrowing down choices for pair number two!

My Warby Parker samples arrived yesterday; I was impressed with all of your rave reviews after my first post so I gave them a go. I just had to share the adorable way they’re packaged and sent to customers — they get a big thumbs up in the product packaging category.  And they look cute on too, the top and bottom pair are my favorite so far… it’s hard to choose just one!

I recently went to the eye doctor and found out that my prescription changed; I got new contacts but passed on the glasses since I rarely wear them. Then when I got home I realized that I rarely wear them because I can’t see out of them and they don’t look that great.

I want some smart new glasses and have heard great things about Warby Parker… but I’m even more impressed after checking out their website, here is why they are awesome: You can upload a photo of yourself and “try-on” the frames online (I did this and it worked really well). Also, all of their glasses cost $95.00, whoa deal! And they will send you  5 pairs of glasses  to try on at home… for free!

It seems almost too good to be true… but I might try it out anyway because their glasses are freaking cute! Have you or anyone you know ever bought glasses from them? Do tell!

I finally got to set foot into the Madewell store during my trip to New York last week after lusting online for months now. I didn’t get to take any pictures because the place was mobbed, but did manage to see a few of the pieces I was coveting.

What caught my eye? Cozy capes, rocker jewelry, and school-girl backpacks. The mustard and white polka-dot scarf was a must-have, and I’m happy to say it was smart investment… I haven’t taken it off since it became mine!

The best Christmas presents are the ones you’re still excited about even when the holidays have come and gone. I got some cozy minnetonka moccasins from my boyfriends family, and let me tell you — they are the gift that keeps on giving. They are SO cozy and make coming in from the frigid Boston weather a little more enjoyable.
