Holiday Gift Guide: Winter White

This holiday gift guide is all about little luxuries in a crisp winter white. Don’t you just want to cozy up in that chunky anchor scarf and light one of those lovely diptyque candles?

The Fall Uniform.

Boston weather is making me a bit crazy this week — it’s freezing cold in the morning and then toasty warm by mid-day. I like to commit to a season, and I am ready for Fall. I’m already plotting my official switch from sandals and sundresses to my Fall Uniform … which pretty much consists of tights and boots with cozy dresses, and bright jeans with soft striped tees. What’s your Fall uniform?

Red, white, and bubbly.

Have you seen this new limited edition Chandon bottle for Summer? I’m making it my mission to find some to pop on the Fourth of July — and of course it would pair so well with a little red, white, and blue number. Peplums, stripes, and a little dash of red is a winning combination for a patriotic celebration, don’t you think?

Life lately.

I’ve been missing on the blog for the past week because life has been busy! I had some relaxing time on the Cape with friends, traveled to NYC for work, and hosted my mom and sister at my apartment for the weekend for some wedding planning. When life gets busy sometimes the blog gets put on the back burner, but I was still snapping away pics on instagram to capture a few moments like dinner at Eataly in NY, my pedicure color of the moment, a special delivery for my wedding day attire from Kate Spade, and my new Madewell bracelet making an appearance in the bracelet mix.

5 Under $50: White Out

I’m not about to break out the white pants or white sundresses yet — it‘s still only March. But white accessories are fine in my book to introduce when the temperature starts to rise. This week’s 5 under $50 are all white accessories that will have you looking extra crisp without breaking the bank:

Sneakers, purse, earrings, belt, necklace

Spring Break Daydream.

This time of year there are a few weeks when Boston gets a little quiet because all of the college students go home for Spring Break. This is awesome if you are in college and get to go on said break. But, if you are a grown up you stay in Boston and look out your window at the beautiful spring weather and daydream about how much fun it would be to take spring break again. And since it’s my daydream, I feel pretty confident I could rock a tiny nautical bikini like this one:

Bathing suit, bracelet, hat, scarf, shoes

Polka dotty.

A pop of  pattern can make all the difference in bringing your outfit (and maybe even your day) some cheerfulness. I’m eyeing quite a few polka dot pieces right now, especially those adorable Madewell flats and the bright Kate Spade clutch! What’s your pattern of choice?

Clutch, blouse, flats, socks

Cozy and chic.

I’m planning out my Christmas morning outfit, because every year I endure those embarrassing photos that parents like to take while you’re opening presents in your PJs. But there’s no excuse not to look cute, even if it’s before your morning coffee! There’s a way to look cozy and chic; polka dot slippers and gingham pajamas anyone? (They match the hat I got yesterday!)

Tassel toes.

Last weekend at my sister’s graduation I gave her a tassel necklace from Madewell, a fitting gift as she and her friends all donned tassels on their caps for their commencement. Usually saved for preppy loafers, tassels are currently making a comeback in a much more modern way. They’re that little extra detail that makes simple shoes glam.

Double-dots.

Double-dots? Yes please! This combination looks so cute… and I already own the scarf from Madewell. The question is, can I pull it off?
