I didn’t really grow up a huge football fan, but when I moved to Boston for college I began to see a lot of the appeal. The winters here are cold, and hibernating with your friends and family on the couch on a Sunday afternoon to watch the game is a pretty nice way to spend your day. Also: football snacks. Yea, it’s the snacks really sold me on the whole football thing. I’m always looking for new treat ideas to bring to family and friend’s houses when we’re over for a Sunday afternoon hang, and that’s where the idea for these football marshmallows came from. The recipe is in the new issue of Family Circle Magazine on stands now!  read more

Is it okay to have cupcakes for breakfast? If you’re celebrating the holidays (all month long, like me), then yes, you absolutely can. I’ve had a box of Trader Joe’s pumpkin bread mix in my cabinet for the past few weeks, and the other day when I was hunting for something to indulge my holiday sweet tooth I got an idea! I decided to make the pumpkin bread batter and bake it into muffin tins. It’s a sweet and spiced bread that came out nearly cupcake-like. read more

A few weeks back I polled my instagram followers and asked what they wanted to see more of this holiday season, recipes or DIYs? The response was almost 50/50 and I have great news, today’s blog post is an easy holiday recipe and makes a simple DIY gift too: Chocolate Ginger Snap Dipped Marshmallows!

Our favorite candy and sweets filled holiday is right around the corner and I’m getting prepared with some Halloween recipe ideas. My friends at Peapod challenged me to come up with a Halloween treat that was both gluten-free and nut-free, and still delicious for all to enjoy. I love challenges like this because I feel like I’m on one of those competitive cooking shows, and nothing gets my creative juices flowing like friendly-competition. We actually have quite a few relatives who are gluten-free for health reasons, so I happened to know that my classic marshmallow crispy treat recipe starts with all gluten-free ingredients: butter, marshmallows, and crispy rice cereal. read more

While it may seem like the holiday season is months away, in blogger world we get started on our holiday projects early (in fact, I’m busy testing some thanksgiving recipes this week to prepare!). One thing getting my in that holiday mindset is the fact that a recipe I worked on for Family Circle Magazine, featuring Torani Syrups, Domino and C&H Sugar is out on newsstands today! I’m flipping through the pages and getting inspired for the coming months. Grab a copy and check out my sweet holiday creation inside, a Chestnut Praline Frappe! read more

A few weeks back I had a little night-out on the town with some of my blogger buddies at Boston Magazine’s Best Fest. It was a much-needed evening of adult interaction! That evening it happened to be pouring rain, and about 95 degrees outside — I can’t fully explain how hot and humid the air felt, other than that the one saving grace of the weather was a popsicle cart serving Patron Tequila-infused frozen treats. They were amazing. I tried a few different flavors — the paloma popsicle was my favorite — and vowed to find a way to recreate them at home. Luckily the folks at Patron were kind enough to share some of their recipes with me, and I tweaked one of the, to make own batch this week! read more

We have a few summer traditions that are absolute essentials in our family, and one is particularly tasty: making my grandma Ida’s homemade blueberry cobbler recipe. It’s simple and fairly quick to make. We’ve done it so many times I can almost assemble it blindfolded. Most importantly, each bite tastes like a burst of summer memories; the warm blueberries scooped out onto a plate with vanilla bean ice cream melting over the top. We had family visiting recently, and with the plethora of blueberries available this time of year it was the perfect time to pull out the weathered recipe card. It’s always such a hit, in fact, as I was taking these pictures, my sister’s boyfriend was hovering nearby wanting to know when he could snag a plate to dig-in.  read more

When a box arrives in the mail from my friends at Martha Stewart Living, I always know there will be fun times to be had. This particular mail day I was excited to find they shared some adorable Martha Stewart glasses from Macy’s with me, and Kerrygold® Irish Cream Liqueur to experiment with! Given our recent heat wave and general summer celebratory mood, I decided to try my hand and mixing up a batch of spiked milkshakes for a simple dessert-cocktail. read more

I have to start this blog post with an apology to my bestie, who is the biggest fan of my Rice Krispy treat recipe but also a total RKT purist. She texts me every time she sees me posting about new Rice Krispy treat experiments that I should just stick to the classics please, because you can’t improve this perfect, buttery, sweet dessert. So sorry buddy, I’m at it again, but I do think you might want to give these a try because I gave my favorite recipe a s’mores spin this time around. read more

If you asked my friends what my signature dish was they would probably reply with “rice krispy treats.” It’s such a simple dessert to make, but after tweaking my own version of recipe for years, they’ve definitely become a go-to item to bring to parties. I noticed the other day that I’ve posted a pumpkin spice version, neapolitan flavors, and even cocoa football treats — but I’ve never actually shared my classic rice krispy treat on here! The secret to mine? A little bit more butter and some sea salt, because butter and salt make everything better. I got the urge to make these and thought I’d put an Easter spin on them by punching them out with a bunny cookie cutter and adding some bunny-faces with a little bit of colored frosting. What’s the word for a pack of bunnies? A herd? Yup, I just ate a herd of these bunny treats while writing this post. read more
