Canyon Ranch is hosting their first ever Family Week this summer, from July 28-August 4, 2024. The week is like a unique luxury wellness summer camp experience for the whole family, full of activities for kids (think: TikTok dance classes, friendship bracelet making scavenger hunts) while adults can enjoy some of the signature Canyon Ranch classes and amenities. Along with experiences that will be tailored to the entire family, like cooking classes, a backyard BBQ, and even a campfire!

Canyon Ranch invited us to come check out the property and try out some of their amazing programming in advance of the family summer camp week, and I jumped at the chance to visit the stunning Lenox location with my sister for a girls getaway weekend. The property is breathtaking – nestled in the Berkshires and built on the grounds of the historic Bellefontaine Mansion, it blends classic New England charm with a serene modern wellness escape. read more

I’ve been toiling away at this recap of our wintry Christmas road trip up to Quebec City all week because I have so many fun details to share (and because I got so many questions about it while we were there)! This trip was a bit of a full circle moment for my husband and I, because we had started this tradition of spending a few days in Quebec to take in all the festive holiday decorations back when first were dating. Then 12 years ago on a frigid snowy night a few days before Christmas we got engaged in front of the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec. This was our first trip back since that engagement weekend, and it felt so special to be visiting after all these years and experiencing this magical winter city as a family. read more

Now that we’re settled into the routine of fall, I have finally have a bit of time to sit down and recap all our awesome summer adventures, including our super fun trip to Legoland New York!  Jane was hooked on the idea of going to Legoland after watching our favorite travel vloggers, the Top Flight Family,  review their stay at the theme park and hotel (we have watched that video more than I should probably admit!). After months of begging to go, we decided to make a last minute detour to check out the Lego-themed amusement park on our way back from a family visit in nearby New York. After I shared a reel of our fun day at the park, I got TONS of messages from followers asking us for all the details on what we did, where we stayed, how long you could spend there, and I’m hoping that this post answers all of those and more! read more

I’m currently on the train to New York for a quick work trip, and I’m using it catch up on some blog post I’ve wanted to write since the summer. A few kid-free hours on the Amtrak to NYC feels like the apt time to share a few pics and tricks from my last visit to New York with a kid-in-tow! We are very lucky that my sister and brother-in-law live in Brooklyn and give us a reason to visit every few months. On our most recent trip, my sister planned tons of kid-friendly New York City activities that made it a magical experience, and the reason that Jane loves visiting the Big Apple! Sharing a few of the fun things we did below, in case it helps plan your next NYC family trip! read more

We kicked off summer with a fun long weekend trip down to Washington, DC! I hadn’t been to DC since before we were married, so exploring the city with a kid and through new eyes was a fun adventure – it felt like we were there for the first time. We packed our trip with lots of kid-friendly museums and experiences, so I thought I’d share our itinerary and some travel wins for future planning!  read more

One of our favorite family traditions is our annual camping trip (ahem, glamping trip) to Huttopia! This was our  fifth year staying at a Huttopia campsite, and our third trip staying at the Southern Maine location. I last wrote about our New England glamping adventures after our first trip (Jane was just a baby!) and figured it was time for an update on our experience and favorite parts of this family friendly New England glamping weekend!  read more

I’m back from a week of bliss in Mexico, spent sitting by the pool, eating unlimited tacos and sipping spicy Paloma cocktails. My husband and I celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary this month and were lucky enough to get away for a few days to celebrate (thanks to my Mom for babysitting!). We’re not typically big resort vacationers, but since we were making this a kids-free trip, we decided our focus was going to be on relaxing. Our wishlist for this trip was an all-inclusive and adults-only resort with an easy, direct-flight from Boston (we flew into Cancun) and great food.  Unico 2087 in Riviera Maya checked off everything on our list!  read more

We had a fun, spring break adventure this week at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster, MA on Cape Cod! Ocean Edge invited us to come experience their school vacation week activities and enjoy all the awesome food, drink, and recreation options they have to offer. We had visited before as guests of a wedding and have been a few times for drinks on their beautiful hotel terrace when we’re on the Cape in this summer, but this was our first visit as a family, so we were excited to try it out! read more

We woke Jane up on the morning before her 6th birthday with a BIG surprise. Early in the morning, we snuck in and told her to get up: we’re going to the most magical place on earth today! She was half-asleep still and excitedly stumbled into the car on the way to the airport to fly down to Disney World for a long weekend adventure. This was her first trip to the park, and something that had been in the works for a long time (we had originally planned for this trip during May 2020 but the pandemic had other plans for us!). Finally getting to bring her here after that long wait made the trip even more special. read more

Last week we were hosted at Inn at Diamond Cove  for a fun, family-friendly Maine summer getaway trip! The Inn at Diamond Cove is located on Great Diamond Island, one of the many small islands in Casco Bay about 30-minutes by boat from downtown Portland, Maine. We took the ferry over and had a few days of good old fashioned summer fun, from time in the pool to beautiful al fresco dining overlooking the bay. read more
