Life has been a little crazy lately, which is why I’m posting a weekend review on a Tuesday and including highlights from the previous week. I was in NY for several days last week for work and for fun; my awesome co-workers know me so well and gifted me some very tasty macarons as a goodbye present (I’m starting a new job next week!). And while in NY I also got to visit with family and friends, which meant dinner overlooking Bryant Park, shopping with Mom (how cute are those PJs?) and a trip to the farmer’s market with my sister — where we skated past the veggie stand and honed in on the chocolate-stuffed croissants. I’m back now and  am enjoying a few days off before I start the next chapter, which hopefully includes a little more time for updating this blog! SFTW

On Friday night we tried a new neighborhood restaurant and I fell in love with it before we even ordered when I saw how fun their cocktail menu was! I played along and settled on a greyhound — it was delicious! Then on Saturday one of my girlfriends hosted a blind wine tasting party — everyone brought a bottle they’d never had before and we got to work sipping and rating our favorites! Aren’t the little cards she designed the cutest? All in all, it was a pretty fine weekend!

Baking can  be a daunting task when you have a tiny apartment kitchen, but I powered through the minimal counter space dilemma this weekend and made some mini pecan pie tarts. The recipe was simple and it was a nice relaxing way to spend my Sunday afternoon.  Now if only doing the dishes was as rewarding as popping those sweet little bites in my mouth!

It was a delightfully quiet weekend — I parked myself on the couch for a full day on Saturday with a full DVR, some fashion magazines, and a good book that I read cover to cover (Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead — I recommend it!). Sometimes you just need a weekend of nothing to do to get recharged, right?

It was a busy weekend! I had (lots) of drinks with my girlfriends at book club, caught a baseball game at Fenway, and checked off a few wedding tasks from the to-do-list! Picking up a print for our guest book table from the framer resulted in some major excitement; and addressing dozens of save-the-dates, a little less exciting but certainly productive! What did you do this weekend?

My weekend recap is a little light today, because truthfully I spent most of it hiding in my air conditioning from the crazy heat wave we’ve been having in Boston. I ventured away from the window unit in our bedroom for just enough time to mix up some St Germain cocktails —  anything to stay cool and refreshed! How did you beat the heat this weekend?

I kicked off the July 4th celebrations a little early this weekend, taking in some local fireworks, bbq-ing with friends (how cute are my friend’s mason jar drink dispensers?) and spent some time by the waterfront looking at the tall ships. I’m ready to take on the week, mostly because it’s a short one — here’s to making it to the mid-week holiday!

I had a perfect little Sunday visiting my parents at home in NY. We had a family BBQ and I broke out paper straws for our cocktails and put together an Americana inspired table with mini-flags and red gingham plates. I took a bunch of pictures and I’ll share them later in the week!
