I feel very protective of my autumn weekends now. I try so very hard not to overschedule them so that we can enjoy quiet Sundays at home. I’m not much of a football person, but I do love the idea of hanging out with my family on the couch and eating tasty homemade food. The game is on in the background, but I’m really here for the lounging and the snacks.  My husband got a smoker earlier this year, and we have been firing it up on weekends to make all kinds of slow-smoked dishes. One of my favorite things we’ve made on the smoker is pulled pork. It is full of flavor and moisture, and the outside gets the most delicious crispy bark.Pulled pork sliders are such a perfect meal for those lazy weekend afternoons, and we made them recently with a flavorful twist! I dressed up our pulled pork with an Asian spin on the usual pulled pork BBQ sauce. Made with hoisin, sesame oil, and sweet chili sauce – the combination is sweet and spicy and perfect for drizzling over that smoky meat. To go along with the sliders, I made a simple slaw out of complimentary ingredients. Mixing in some of the sesame oil and sweet chili sauce into the slaw dressing tied the whole thing together. We ate them last weekend, and have been chipping away at the leftovers all week. You could serve them in tacos to for another easy, crowd-pleasing meal! Get the full recipe below:

Note: For the pulled pork, you can prepare it in a few ways: Use this recipe for the smoker or  grill (the best route to go in my opinion!), or if you want to make it in a crockpot try a recipe like this that omits the sauce until the end and use the Hoisin Chili sauce recipe below.
